Man suspected in Franklin shooting arrested in separate incident

Police arrested a 39-year-old man in connection to a shooting earlier this week at the Franklin Commons Apartment complex.

Police were dispatched around 9 p.m. Wednesday to 613 Spring Ave. on a report of an assault allegedly involving Jesse James of Franklin. James fled the scene, so several Warren County agencies were called in to set up a perimeter. James was arrested and charged with felonious assault. He is being held in the Warren County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

James is a suspect in the Feb. 18 shooting of 40-year-old Timothy Lazier of Franklin. Lazier was shot once in the head with a .22 caliber handgun. Police said no one at the scene was very cooperative, but James was identified as the prime suspect.

Lazier’s condition is still unknown.
