Macy’s looks to hire 80,000 for holiday season

Macy’s plans to hire 80,000 seasonal associates as it, along with other retailers nationwide, prepares for a busy holiday shopping season during a strong economy.

The company’s hiring event for positions at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s stores, call centers, distribution centers and online fulfillment centers nationwide will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 18, according to a company statement.

“Macy’s Inc. is focused on providing customers with a great shopping experience, and we wouldn’t be able to do that without our colleagues - who are the key to our success,” said John Harper, Macy’s chief stores officer.

In addition to local stores hiring sales associates, 1,500 will be hired for customer service via phone, email and online chat, including some at the company’s call center in Mason in Warren County.

In addition to the Mason call center, there are Macy’s stores at the Dayton Mall and Mall at Fairfield Commons, as well as four in the Cincinnati area.
