70-year-old youth tennis program canceled due to coronavirus

A low-cost, introductory tennis program that has been operating in Middletown for 70 years won’t be held this year due to the concerns over the coronavirus.

The Todd Tennis program has been held in the Middletown area since 1950, said Kelli Grimes, president of the Todd Tennis Foundation.

The summer program is geared toward the grass roots level and lessons are held twice a week for six weeks, typically in June and July. Last year 100 children participated and lessons were held at Middletown High School, Miami University Middletown and Madison Park, Grimes said.

The program is expected to return in 2021, she said.
