Schwarber, the son of former Middletown Police Chief Greg Schwarber, made a visit with his fiancee to see the baseball display, said Donnie Owens, retired Middletown police lieutenant and veteran member of the “Grandpa Gang,” which sets up the display each year.

“He was here about a half hour, looking a everything. It was good to see him,” said Owens, who has known the ballplayer his whole life.
Light Up Middletown tweeted a photo of Schwarber and the gang. The popular display opens Thanksgiving Day.
