Retail closures continue in the Butler County region during coronavirus slowdown

Retail chains nationwide are temporarily closing their doors to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to do their part to encourage “social distancing.”

More than 70 retailers have closed storefronts, and dozens more have limited hours and partial closures.

Simon Property Group announced Wednesday afternoon that it would close all its retail properties, including malls, premium outlets and mills, nationwide until March 29, which will affect more stores.

Among them will be the 100 or so retailers at Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe.

“The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” said David Simon, chairman, CEO and president of Simon.

Traders World Flea Market at at 601 Union Road in Monroe announced this week it will be closed this weekend and the weekend of March 28-29 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ownership and management of Traders World, located on the east side of Interstate 75, said it will continue to make adjustments to its operations before the weekend of April 4-5 and looks forward to welcoming shoppers soon.
