After this news organization made inquiries earlier this week, Yellow Springs police issued a news release stating that there was an ongoing investigation into “alleged offenses of a sexual nature involving YSHS students.”
A police report dated March 7 has been obtained through a public records request.
That report said a student went to the school’s student counselor on March 7 to tell about “an alleged sexual offense between several students.”

The student reported the incident or incidents occurred in a several-month period prior to being reported, according to the report.
After listening to the student’s allegations, the school counselor informed the school’s vice principal, Jack Hatert, and they decided to contact the parents of the juveniles involved and advise them to contact police, according to the report.
The investigation is not complete, according to Yellow Springs Police Chief Brian Carlson.
