Injured Wright State basketball player, family ‘blessed by outpouring of love’

CINCINNATI - (UPDATE @ 10:40 p.m.) Ryan Custer's family, speaking publicly for the first time since his injury, joined supporters at a Cincinnati church to pray for his recovery.

"On behalf of our family we are very thankful and blessed by the outpouring of love we have received," Nick Custer, Ryan’s brother, said, as reported by our news partner WCPO.com in Cincinnati. "We appreciate the prayers, support and heartfelt concern shown to us over the past few days.

"Ryan wanted to tell everyone that he is so grateful for all the thoughts and prayers and that he loves you all. Thank you."

A prayer service has been organized for Ryan Custer, the Wright State basketball player injured in a pool accident at Miami University on Saturday.

The service will be held at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Cincinnati on Wednesday night (April 12) at 7 p.m.

Custer’s friends and past teachers will be hosting the service and living rosary. All are welcome.
