FAIRFIELD — Partners in Prime is returning to Fairfield after the seniors organization was forced to move in April from its Patterson Boulevard location.

Neyer Properties decided not to continue its month-to-month lease, and for the past few months, seniors had to go to the Hamilton club for social activities and their hot lunch during the week.

At 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, the new Prime Club Fairfield will open at 5108 Sandy Lane with a ribbon cutting and ice cream social.

“It makes you feel like you’re sitting in someone’s home, rather than a business,” said Dianne McEachen, volunteer coordinator and Fairfield Prime Club manager.

The new club has a remote feel but is easy to find, Partners in Prime spokeswoman Christy Quincy said.

“It’s welcoming, and it’s a more social environment that we created here,” she said.

The new club has about as much space as the old one, but has basement storage and an outdoor deck.

“If we have a senior who is somewhat limited, this isn’t going to be a challenge coming in and out,” Quincy said.

The smallest of the three Prime Clubs, it is about half the size of the West Chester Twp. club, which has about 300 active participants.

The goal is to grow the program, McEachen said.

Partners in Prime offers a number of services, like the Lending Closet, and information referral services.

Partners in Prime’s seven-vehicle transportation fleet is stored at the Fairfield location. The service offers door-through-door assistance.

“Our drivers are fantastic,” said Sonya Hovis, transportation assistant for Partners in Prime in Fairfield. “They go out of their way to help people.”

Quincy credited local businessmen Jim Adams and Buck Rumpke for making the club possible.

“We really couldn’t have done it without their help,” she said.
