“As an employee was coming out of the building, the suspect ran from behind a Dumpster, punched the employee in the face and ran into the building,” said Sgt. Steve Henderson. “Once inside, he struck another employee, knocking them to the ground. The suspect then took the money bag and fled the area.”
Police said responding officers initiated a traffic stop when they spotted a suspicous black Chevrolet Impala near Hamilton and East avenues. Police say the car’s occupants matched the suspect descriptions in the robbery. Joshua R. Parmley, 19, of 148 Walnut St. allegedly admitted to police he drove the get-away vehicle for Williams, according to police reports.
Dejuan Lattimore, 27, doesn’t know what willed his younger brother to allegedly rob the local fast-food eatery early Wednesday.
“That’s nothing like my brother,” Lattimore said of Williams. “I try to encourage him and steer him in the right direction. I never expected this.”
Henderson said the two restaurant employees, both women, were 20 and 23. One of the women suffered serious injuries to her left cheek, according to reports.
Henderson said after the vehicle was impounded, police found $1,246 in the glove compartment, a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt and black long-sleeved T-shirt.
Lattimore is worried what affect the incident will have on his mother, whom he said recently suffered a mild stroke. Lattimore said Parmley has been a family friend for years.
“I used to cut his hair and I’m friends with his brothers and sisters,” Lattimore said.
Williams was charged with aggravated robbery. Parmley was charged with complicity to aggravated robbery, both a first-degree felony. The men will appear for preliminary hearings April 7 in Hamilton Municipal Court. They are being held on $75,000 bond each in the Butler County Jail. However, Williams is booked under the name DeAngelo D. Lattimore, though his arrest report and court case are filed under the name Williams.
