Not guilty pleas were entered by Raymond Walters during an arraignment hearing Thursday, who is facing 22 charges connected to an Aug. 26 incident involving a stabbing, stolen police cruiser, and deadly crash.
Raymond Walters, 32, will be arraigned this morning on 22 charges including murder following his indictment earlier this week.
Walters is facing the charges connected to a Aug. 26 incident that began with him stabbing his own father on Xenia Avenue in Dayton while they were in a pickup truck, investigators previously told this news outlet.
Walters then stole his father’s pickup truck but crashed it a short time later in Riverside on Airway Road.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, including the stolen cruiser and a van with seven children inside.
Two 6-year-old girls in the van, Penelope Jasko of Dayton and Eleanor McBride of Huber Heights, died at Dayton Children’s Hospital following the crash. They were cousins, according to the family’s priest.
On Monday, Walters was indicted on 22 charges in connection to the incident:
murder — 2 counts
involuntary manslaughter — 2 counts
aggravated vehicular assault — 5 counts
felonious assault — 2 counts
vehicular assault — 3 counts
grand theft (motor vehicle) — 3 counts
failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer — 3 counts
