That victim was taken first to Fort Hamilton Hospital, then to University Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati by CareFlight. The condition of that victim is not available.
The other victim has been identified as a neighbor who was driving by the address when the explosion occurred. The neighbor victim is said to be in good condition at Fort Hamilton Hospital.
According to the joint statement, police and fire crews arrived just after 3:30 p.m. and found heavy fire and significant damage to the house, which had collapsed. Still, crews were able to contain the fire to the initial address.
No cause for the explosion has been established, the police and fire officials said, noting the State Fire Marshal’s Office has joined the city police and fire departments in the investigation.
Additional information will be released as the investigation proceeds, the officials said in the statement.
