Kathy and Troy Schwable, who in 2018 were named Hamilton’s Volunteers of the Year, don’t limit their helpfulness to the city where they live.

Turns out, they also were making themselves useful last week in West Virginia, at the 24th World Scout Jamboree, where some 45,000 Boy Scouts from more than 150 countries were attending.

Kathy Schwable, a registered nurse, was providing first aid to the youth and their leaders, helping them battle heat exhaustion, dehydration, sunburn and other maladies.

An article quoting Schwable that appeared in the Beckley, W.Va., Register-Herald, can be found here: Medical staff keeping 45,000 Scouts safe at World Jamboree.
