Half Price Books’ new location — 3185 Princeton Road — will open April 28, but store officials will mark the move on Mother’s Day weekend with a four-day grand opening celebration May 6-9.
“We’re really moving to get closer to our customer base,” Woeste said. “And it’s a better potential for sales in the newer location.”
Woeste said most patrons live in the greater Fairfield and West Chester Twp. areas.
“At first people were a little upset because they didn’t realize were moving not that far away,” Woeste said. “It’s only a few minutes up the road.”
Including the soon-to-be Fairfield Twp. store, there are six regional Half Price Books locations — Northgate, Mason, Kenwood, Turfway Park (in Kentucky) and Beavercreek.
The move is also to more of a “neighborhood location,” Woeste said.
“The spot is on the road and it’s a pretty vibrant, growing area,” she said. “The site has a lot of visibility.”
Fairfield Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kert Radel said the move shows “Fairfield Twp. is a viable place to do business.”
“It’s just another indication of what Fairfield Twp. has to offer the business community,” Radel said. “The more traffic you can bring to the township in terms of customers, it’s not only going to benefit Half Price Books but it will benefit the other businesses and that’s a plus.”
Half Price Books will close its Springdale store on April 21.
On each day of the grand opening celebration, canvas bags with a $5 gift card inside will be given to the first 100 people through the doors. One bag, Woeste said, will have a $100 gift card.
