No injuries, but Franklin fire truck is out of service after collision in Clearcreek Twp.

UPDATE @ 8:35 p.m.: The collision at state Routes 48 and 73 in Clearcreek Twp. involving a Franklin Fire Department ladder truck is under investigation, Chief Jonathan Westendorf said.

No one was injured in the collision he said occurred when a passenger vehicle struck the rear of the fire truck as it was making a left turn. The ladder truck had just been disregarded from a chimney fire in the area, the chief said.

There were four fire personnel aboard and one person in the passenger vehicle, he said.

Westendorf said the ladder truck will be out of service. For how long is not certain, he said.

FIRST REPORT

A Franklin fire truck was involved in a two-vehicle crash tonight in Clearcreek Twp.

The crash was reported around 6:30 p.m. at U.S. 48 and Ohio 73. Medics were requested for at least one person, but all fire personnel were not hurt, according to initial reports.
