Dr. Lee Sanders has been named interim executive director of the YWCA Hamilton, according to the organization’s board president.

Sanders previously worked at Miami University Hamilton for almost 30 years, teaching mathematics and then served in positions in administration.

Sanders also served as interim executive director, associate dean for academic affairs, associate dean for administrative affairs, and director of Appalachian studies at the Miami University Regional campuses.

She will be taking over for Sherrie Bluester who died in December.

“While the organization remains heavyhearted, the dedicated staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly to move forward our mission and have selected an interim director to take the helm until we hire a permanent executive director,” said Liz Hayden, chairwoman and president of the board of directors.

Sanders did not indicate if she will seek the “permanent” title, but said she’s “thrilled to be a part of a great team.”
