Cafe serving ice cream, bubble tea, cereal and more proposes expansion in Butler County

The owners of Milk Jar Cafe in Hyde Park have pulled permits for a new location in Butler County.

Co-owner Jimmy Lin said the restaurant plans to open by July at 7743-D Tylersville Road in West Chester Twp., a storefront located in the Tylersville Pointe shopping plaza on the southwest corner of Cox Road and Tylersville Road.

Milk Jar Cafe debuted at 3880 Paxton Ave., Suite M, in Hyde Park Plaza in September 2018. Not only does it serve authentic bubble tea, Thai-rolled ice cream and a cereal bar with offerings like Cinnamon Apple Pie, which includes Apple Jacks, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and graham crackers with a caramel drizzle, and Choco Loco, which includes Reese's Puffs, Cookie Crisp, M&M's and chocolate chips.

Cereals also include make-your-own options.

Popular teas include Classic Ceylon Black Milk Tea, Jasmine Green Milk Tea, Mango Jasmine Fruit Tea and Strawberry Matcha Latte.

Ice cream at the Hyde Park location includes flavors like Cookie Monster, (Oreo with vanilla, matcha or coffee), Monkey Business (banana and nutella); Unicorn Poop (Fruity Pebbles and caramel); and Java Lava (condensed milk with coffee). Toppings are unlimited and include more than 40 from which to choose including cereals, candy, cookies & nuts, fruit and drizzles.

“This past summer, a lot of our customers drove to Hyde Park from West Chester, Kenwood and OTR to buy boba tea and they requested we open one closer to them,” he said. “I looked at a couple of places and Tylersville Road in West Chester seems to be a great location with a good population to serve our customers in the area while introducing boba and our food offerings to the Greater Cincinnati area, so I decided on that location first. However, I will be looking forward to be opening another one next year in OTR or Kenwood.”

The full menu for Milk Jar Cafe's West Chester location has yet to be finalized, he said. Size limitations mean it likely will not include ice cream, but will include bubble tea, poke and grilled food, Lin said.

Hiring will start several weeks before Milk Jar Cafe’s summer opening, he said.
