Butler County Donut Trail named best in Ohio in magazine awards

Ohio Magazine asked readers and website visitors to vote for their favorites throughout the state in Best Of Ohio categories, and Butler County scored in three categories.

Best of Ohio 2020 honors went to Butler County Donut Trail, which got its start in 2016, earned best Tourism Trail/Passport Program.

The Butler County Visitors Bureau launched the Donut Trail in 2016. Visitors can experience the Butler County Donut Trail by stopping by the 12 shops of the trail and collecting stamps on an official passport. Once fully complete, each passport can be redeemed for a complimentary official Donut Trail T-shirt.

Since its inception, more than 22,000 people from all 50 states and 22 countries have completed the Donut Trail, bringing in over $3 million in economic impact into Butler County

Great Miami River Trail, which winds through Butler, Miami, Montgomery and Warren counties, scored best Bike Trail. Best College Town went to Butler County's Oxford, home of Miami University.

The magazine said its January 2020 issue would feature more about each winner and include editors' picks.
