Boy, 2, who drowned in Ross Twp. was ‘the happiest child you would ever meet’

A 2-year-old Butler County boy who drowned earlier this month in his family’s swimming pool is being remembered as “the happiest child you would ever meet.”

Miles D. Farmer drowned June 12 after emergency responders were called to the 4000 block of Leona Court around 7:45 p.m. The boy was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Evidence from the Ross Twp. police department was presented Wednesday to the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office and it decided no charges would be filed in the drowning, said Ross Twp. police Chief Burton Roberts.

In his obituary, his family wrote that Miles was “a giant of a person, not only in size but in love as well. He welcomed anyone with open arms to be hugged. His hugs were of mythical strength, as he was holding you instead of you holding him.”
