Past arrivals have brought 500 to 1,500 people to welcome home veterans, he said.
“We’re never sure exactly (how many people will show up) because people from throughout the community and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base just spread the word and come out,” he said.
Greeters should arrive between 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the flight’s scheduled 10:30 p.m. arrival, Honor Flight said
Attendees should proceed to the Transportation Safety Administration-controlled area in front of the downstairs ticket counters at the airport to greet veterans, Honor Flight said.

For active-duty service members or others associated with the military who want to greet veterans as they de-plane at the gate, Honor Flight says they should arrive from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and ask for a gate pass at the American Airlines ticket counter to walk through the TSA checkpoint.
Honor Flight Dayton has three more flights scheduled this year: May 19, Sept. 8 and Oct. 27.
