Each year, the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty partners with Lakota Local Schools to honor excellent educators in the school district.

The foundation is currently seeking nominations for this year’s “Educator of Excellence” award.

Three awards will be given:

  • a teacher or support staff from the elementary level (grades PreK-6)
  • a teacher or support staff from the secondary level (grades 7-12)
  • a Lakota administrator for his or her extraordinary commitment to students, staff and the community

The teacher or support staff winners will receive a $2,000 grant to be used for a project at their school.

The administrator will be honored with a non-monetary award.

Nominations are now being accepted, and students, colleagues, parents or any community resident is encouraged to acknowledge a staff member’s exceptional effort.

Nominations are due April 7 and require a minimum of two letters.
