Hamilton teacher dies; officials make grief counselors available to students

A Hamilton science teacher has died, city school officials announced Thursday.

Wilson Middle School instructor Jennifer Williams’ death did not come with any details from Hamilton School officials in their late afternoon announcement on the district’s Facebook page.

“The Hamilton City School district regrets informing you about Wilson Middle School teacher Jennifer Williams’s tragic passing,” wrote Wilson school Principal Kristin Yordy.

“Ms. Williams has worked in Hamilton City Schools for seven years as a science teacher at Wilson Middle School. During her career in Hamilton City Schools, Jennifer has positively impacted thousands of students, and she will be sorely missed. Her love for the students she taught and the Hamilton City School District was evident daily,” stated Yordy.

Hamilton School officials did not immediately respond to requests for more information.

A graduate of Wright State University, Williams was teaching 8th grade science at the middle school since joining Hamilton Schools in 2014.
