Fire damages Madison Twp. home, displaces family

A fire damaged a Butler County home today and displaced the family that lives there.

Emergency dispatchers got the call at 11:46 a.m. for a fire at a two-story dwelling in the 1900 block of Middletown-Eaton Road in Madison Twp.

Responding to the scene were fire departments from numerous jurisdictions, including Madison Twp., Wayne Twp., Trenton and Warren County, according to dispatchers.

The family escaped the blaze without injury and the fire was extinguished by 1 p.m., dispatchers said. The Red Cross was called to the scene to help find lodging for the family.

There’s no word yet on what might have caused the fire or how much damage it caused to the home.
