It’s been two years since Festo Americas LLC bought property to build a new manufacturing assembly and warehouse facility in Mason, but now officials at the German-based industrial company say they’re putting the finishing touches on the building and installing high-tech machinery.
And that also means Festo is now ready to hire before it begins operations.
Festo — a worldwide supplier of pneumatic and electric automation technology — is opening on Columbia Road a new 200,000-square-foot, $50 million Regional Service Center, according to Andrea Ziomek, manager of corporate communications in the Americas. Festo makes automation components including cylinders, actuators, valve terminals and sensors. It also provides consulting services to improve manufacturing processes, as well as industrial education and training, Ziomek said.
At full capacity, the Mason location will employ about 250 people, she said.
Plans are to be up-and-running by the end of this year and to hire approximately 100 workers by January, she said.
The first job fair has been scheduled for Saturday, July 18. Festo is seeking applicants for warehouse personnel, material handlers, pickers/packers, receiving operators, assemblers, machine operators, CNC machinists, prototype machinists, maintenance mechanics and maintenance technicians.
The job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 18 on-site at 7777 Columbia Road in Mason, according to information provided by the company.
Walk-in applications are accepted weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
