Fatal holiday weekend crash in West Chester Twp.

A passenger in a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning died from the crash and the township police department is now investigating, said Barb Wilson, West Chester Twp. spokeswoman.

At almost 5 a.m. Saturday, three men ages 18 to 19 were traveling on Beckett Ridge Boulevard when the vehicle lost control and struck a tree, Wilson said. The driver and one of the passengers escaped without injury, but a second passenger was taken to West Chester Hospital where he was pronounced dead, she said.

The accident occurred just east of the entrance to the Beckett Ridge Golf Club, she said.

More information about the identities of those involved and the cause was not immediately available.
