The 2,781-square-foot restaurant at at 7 W. High St. is a corporately owned Rapid Fired Pizza location, Gray said. A Middletown location opened in January.
Kettering-based Rapid Fired Pizza is a fast-casual concept that features fresh-made pizzas cooked in 180 seconds. Pizza pies come in two sizes — 11-inch thin or 9-inch pan. There are eight sauces, eight cheeses, more than 35 toppings and 14 dipping sauces. Alternatively, customers may order one of the 10 craft pizzas on the menu.
In something that separates the stores from competitors, Rapid Fired offers “unlimited toppings at no additional charge.”
Made-to-order craft and custom salads are also available in addition to bread sticks, and No-Doh Pizza for customers counting carbohydrates. The restaurants also offer craft beers and desserts.
Rapid Fired Pizza now has 13 locations from Lima to Springfield to Cincinnati. Twelve others, including sites in Hilliard, Bowling Green, Beavercreek and Florence, Ky., are under construction, Gray said.
Founded in 2015, the pizza chain is another product of Ray Wiley, who co-founded 70-unit Hot Head Burritos. The company works through franchise agreements, with costs of store openings running between $230,000 and $560,000. Most stores located in shopping plazas can open for an investment between $340,000 and $400,000.
Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
