New restaurant, The Slice, offers pizza and more in Middletown

The Slice is set to make its debut this month at 1300 Central Ave. in downtown Middletown.

The business will first offer delivery, then open as a full restaurant and bar in the middle of March, according to co-owner Brandon Scott, who is opening the business with his brother Shane.

And it won’t limit itself to pizza. Its menu includes chicken wings, Italian sausage hoagies, steak hoagies, chicken hoagies and salads, plus appetizers like garlic knots, french bread pizza and cheese sticks.

The business will bake its pizza in stone ovens and, as the name of the business implies, pizza will be available by the slice, not just by the pie.

Specialty pizzas are plentiful on the menu and include a chicken-bacon-ranch pizza, a veggie pizza, buffalo chicken pizza and a barbecue pizza.

“We do a specialty pizza called a pickle pie, which is rare and one of our more unique pizzas,” Scott said.

Monthly specials will be introduced later to vary the selection of specialty pizzas, he said.

Local beers like Rivertown, Fig Leaf and Blank Slate will be available for purchase, as well brews from other local, independent breweries.
