"I would like to thank my son who set an example to me of the forgiveness and grace of Jesus Christ,” Cole said. "As Logan was lying on the floor and fighting for life he had already extended forgiveness.”
Cole said as his son was lying on the bathroom floor with shotgun wounds to his chest and back, he asked Logan who shot him.
“He gave me the name of the boy and then immediately said, 'But that doesn't even matter dad, that doesn't matter,’” Ryan Cole said.
Cole thanked Andy McGill and Greg Johnson who entered the bathroom after shots were fired.
Cole said the doctors continue to evaulate Logan and the pellet that remains in a chamber of his heart. Logan also has exposed bone in his spinal column.
For the family of suspect Ely Serna, 17, Ryan Cole asked for prayers.
"We do not fully understand these tragic events," Ryan Cole said.
