Woman accused of theft leaves store to find her bicycle stolen

A woman leaving the Oxford Walmart store after being charged with theft for allegedly stealing six items valued at $29 from the store went outside to discover her bike had been stolen and immediately reported it to the officer who had just charged her.

Police were called to the store at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 29 on the report of theft. The store’s loss prevention officer provided the police officer with a list of six items Alicia Bennett, 27, was accused of placing in her purse and then attempting to leave the store without purchasing. Bennett was stopped by store security officers before she could flee to the parking lot.
