Pizza delivery driver robbed while sitting in car

A pizza delivery employee was verbally threatened, robbed of $60 and her cell phone Wednesday night, according to a police report.

The 39-year-old woman, a driver for Cassano’s Pizza on Jackson Lane, told police she was sitting in her car at the intersection of Central Avenue and Highview Road around 10 p.m. when a man wearing a white T-shirt and baseball cap reached into the vehicle and grabbed her neck, the report read.

He told her to give him all her possessions and called her a defamatory name, according to the report.

She gave the man the $60 she had in a small pouch that she keeps in the car when she’s making deliveries. He also stole her cell phone, before running off, according to the report.

Canine officer Bear tracked the suspect through several yards before losing the scent in the area of Ross Street and Sherman Avenue, according to the report.

The woman told police she was delivering a pizza to a residence in the 4500 block of Central Avenue. Another Cassano’s employee delivered the pizza, according to the report.
