Lebanon officer gets lawyer to fight ticket issued after cruiser crash

Lebanon Police Officer Dan Fry has hired a lawyer to represent him and pleaded not guilty of failing to proceed with caution into an intersection where his cruiser collided with a motor home on the Ohio 48 Bypass in Lebanon.

Fry, 37, entered the plea during his arraignment on Monday in Lebanon Municipal Court.

Fry retained lawyer Charles M. Rittgers and is set for a pretrial with an appointed judge, William Wolff, at 1 p.m., on July 23, according to court records.

The waiver amount listed for the ticket is $120.

Both vehicles were totaled in the June 13 crash, and the city’s insurance will cover the damage to both vehicles, Capt. Dave Gehringer said.

Fry was back on regular duty Monday.
