Dog killed with brick in backyard, owner tells police

A dog was killed with a brick while it was in the backyard of its home in the 400 block of Mill Road. The owner of the 3-year-olld Amercican bulldog mix reported Saturday that someone went into his backyard and used a brick to kill his dog.

A GPS worth $300 was reported stolen Friday evening out of a man’s 2008 Chevrolet Cargo Van after the driver’s side window was broken out. The vehicle was parked at his home in the 900 block of Foster Avenue.

Items with a $1,400 total value were reported stolen overnight from the outside shed of an elderly man’s home in the 3000 block of Griesmer Avenue. Police say a lawn mower, leaf blower, lawn edger, extension cords and two bicycles were stolen.

A 42-inch TV worth more than $1,000 was reported stolen by a house guest in the 400 block of Hampshire Drive while the resident made a short trip to Kentucky.

Hamilton Tool Rental at 350 S. B St. reported Saturday a $4,000 generator was rented and the suspect refused to return it.
