Crash injures 2 Badin students walking to school

Two Badin High School students suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they were struck by a vehicle this morning while walking to school.

The students were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover, said Dirk Q.  Allen, spokesman for the Catholic co-ed high school.

“We are relieved,” Allen said.

The students were hit about 6:50 a.m. while walking in the crosswalk at West Fairway Drive and New London Road. The driver, not a Badin student, stopped after the accident, Allen said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to police.
