30 companies to be part of Warren County hiring event Sept. 11

The Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities is hosting a hiring event next month with a focus on professionals who work with individuals with disabilities.

The Sept. 11 hiring event will be held at two separate times that day. The first will be from 9 a.m. to noon, and the second one will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Both will take place at the Warren C. Young Center, 801 Drake Road in Lebanon.

More than 30 companies will be participating in hopes of finding candidates to fill many jobs that are currently going unfulfilled, according to the WCBDD. Changes in the federal government are requiring that Ohio’s county boards of developmental disabilities remove themselves as providers to those with developmental disabilities.

“As we move from providing services, we look to community partners who can step in and provide these needed services,” said Rob Goddard, Provider Development Coordinator with the WCBDD, in a statement. “The provider agencies are in critical need right now of employees to provide these services, so we are hosting this hiring event,” he said.

Job candidates will be able to learn about careers in day and residential services with private provider agencies in Warren County, according to the WCBDD.

According to the WCBDD:

  • leadership opportunities and direct support positions are available
  • for many of the jobs, no experience is needed, and paid training is provided
  • all shifts are available in both full and part time positions
