Cincinnati-based Total Quality Logistics has been named among the 2019 FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For.
The list is an annual ranking of companies with outstanding workplaces cultures according to global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work and Fortune.
TQL ranked 84th on the list. It previously placed 49th on the Best Workplaces for Millennials 2017 and 97th for Best Workplaces for Millennials 2018.
Founded in Cincinnati in 1997, TQL works “around the clock, 24/7/365, to schedule and manage a transparent, seamless pick-up and delivery process for a portion of the 54 million tons of goods and raw materials moving across the country every day by truck and rail,” according to an overview on the Great Place to Work website.
TQL opened a site at 8488 Shepherd Farm Drive in West Chester Twp. in 2012. It employs more than 160 people at that location.
This is TQL’s first time appearing on the list, which is based on survey responses from more than 4.3 million employees rating their workplace culture on five key elements including credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
TQL is only the fourth company with Cincinnati headquarters to ever make the list, according to Fortune. The other three companies were P&G, LensCrafters and Ohio National Financial Services.
Total Quality Logistics is one of the largest privately held third-party logistics firms in North America.
What started as a two-man operation in Cincinnati has grown into a more-than-5,500-strong team of logistics professionals who coordinate the movements of more than 30,000 shipments per week worldwide from 57 local offices nationwide.
