“The time has come for me to move on to new challenges and opportunities,” Croushore said in a letter sent to hospital staff and shared with this newspaper.
The Christ Hospital is an independent Cincinnati area hospital, with a network of outpatient centers and doctor offices throughout the area. About a year ago, the hospital signed a lease for new office space in Liberty Twp., but has not yet said what it plans for the space. Christ Hospital is also affiliated with the Christ Hospital Physicians Ohio Heart & Vascular, which has locations in Hamilton, Middletown and Mason. Wetherington Family Medicine of West Chester Twp. joined the hospital’s physician network last year and is now known as an office of Christ Hospital Physicians Primary Care, said hospital spokesman Michael Beauchat.
Physicians Primary Care also has a Mason location.
Cardiovascular testing centers are also located at the same locations as Ohio Heart & Vascular in Hamilton and Mason.
Previously, Christ Hospital was part of the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, which was a joint operating system of hospitals that included Fort Hamilton Hospital. That group split up, and now consists of UC Health. The Mt. Auburn hospital became independent in 2008 under Croushore’s leadership, according to the hospital.
Fort Hamilton is now part of Dayton-based Kettering Health Network.
A national search for a new hospital leader begins immediately. Mike Keating, past hospital board chair, will be interim president and CEO and help with the search. Croushore will stay on as a senior adviser the rest of the year, the hospital said.
The news comes within a week of the announcement of the resignation of Greg Williams, president of University of Cincinnati. University of Cincinnati houses the region’s medical school, including the hospital system UC Health, which operates West Chester Hospital.
