He said Dennis Ross, 66, was found by his daughter when she returned to the residence in the 2200 block of Cardinal Avenue after running errands that included getting some parts for the project.

“It looks like he was under the driver’s side front wheel and motor when the jack stand slipped from underneath,” Haussler said.
Haussler said his detective and a neighbor with a hydraulic jack were able to lift the van up to pull Ross’s body out from underneath.
He said Ross was taken by the township life squad to Fire Station 101 to meet the Air Care medical helicopter that was dispatched. However, the doctor on board the medical helicopter pronounced him dead at the fire station, and he was not transported, he said.
Haussler said there was no foul play involved in the accident.
“This was a tragic accident under very unfortunate circumstances,” Haussler said.
