A repeat drunk driver in New Mexico caused a chaotic scene recently when he drove the wrong way on an interstate near Las Vegas.
59-year-old Adrian Madrid drove southbound in the northbound lanes of I-25 earlier this month and caused a semi to overturn. Speeds reached over 120 mph.
State police and sheriff’s deputies chased him for at least ten miles. Eventually, they were able to do a pit maneuver, causing the suspect’s vehicle to careen across a median and into a barbed wire.
A bottle of vodka was found inside the car.
Fortunately, nobody was injured.
Madrid is not unknown to law enforcement. His criminal record includes aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, and child abandonment.
