“If you are a senior your job right now is to stay home and stay healthy,” Bailer said.
Officials stressed there are 22 positive cases they know about, but they added there are more that have not been confirmed with a positive test. She said eight people have recovered, and it took them about 11 to 24 days, with a median length of 16 days, “that means all of their symptoms being gone.”
Council on Aging Vice President for Program Operations Ken Wilson said his agency is contacting more than 3,000 seniors who are served by their programs to ensure they have what they need. To date, 1,508 food boxes have been delivered to seniors and all Meals on Wheels clients will have 14-day food boxes by Monday.

“Many older adults who have not needed help in the past are reaching out to us because of the pandemic…,” Wilson said. “Some of them are lonely and afraid, they need someone to check on them, we are responding by organizing volunteers to match them with these seniors.”
