Another Democrat to be replaced on November ballot

A second Butler County Democratic Party candidate for office has dropped from a November general election race since the May primary election.

But the county party will, as they did earlier this summer, nominate a replacement.

The party’s Central Committee is expected to vote at the end of the month to nominate Brenda Williams, of Hamilton, to replace Randy McDonald on the ballot to run against incumbent Butler County Commissioner Cindy Carpenter.

Earlier this summer, Michele DeCresce, of Fairfield, resigned as the party’s candidate to run against State Rep. Wes Retherford, R-Hamilton, for the 51st Ohio House District. A vote of the Democratic Party’s Central Committee that reside in the 51st Ohio House District voted to have Hamilton resident Lucinda Greene as the party’s candidate.

The Democratic Party is set to meet on July 31 at its headquarters, 224-226 Park Ave. in Hamilton.
