400 pounds of trout stocked for new fishing season at Fairfield park

The Thomas O. Marsh Park Fishing Lake, located at 6440 River Road in Fairfield, has opened its docks and shoreline for the 2017 fishing season.

The Thomas O. Marsh Park Fishing Lake, located at 6440 River Road, has stocked 400 pounds of Rainbow Trout to open its docks and shoreline for the 2017 fishing season.

The Marsh Park Fishing Lake opened today, March 3, for the season.

Marsh Park Fishing Lake is a natural spring fed lake with more than 4,000 feet of accessible shoreline. Regularly stocked throughout the season, the lake is home to carp, catfish, crappie, bass, bluegill, northern pike, perch, trout and walleye.

The bait house carries fresh live bait and basic tackle needs. Beverages, snacks, and hot sandwiches are also available for purchase.

The 2017 hours of operation are:

  • March: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • April 1 through Sept. 4: Daily, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • September: Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Throughout the fishing season, Marsh Park Fishing Lake also hosts special events and overnight fishing.
