Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to town and they are making a stop at Middletown Senior Center’s Annual Santa Brunch and Craft Show on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

“This is a great, family friendly day. It’s not only a fun event for those who would like to do some Christmas shopping, but there’s a lot of anticipation for the children who come to see Santa and Mrs. Claus,” said Tina Pryor, human resources/public relations, Middletown Senior Center.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children and be available for holiday photos. Another fun thing for children to do is cookie decorating, which will be led by a gentleman from Astoria Nursing Home and Rehab in Germantown. He will also bring his own cookie oven to bake the cookies.

Of course, there will be plenty of kid-friendly items for breakfast, including eggs, French toast, bite-sized chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese.

“This gives the community an opportunity to shop a wide variety of products and product lines as well as to see Santa and Mrs. Claus here in a family friendly environment. It also gives us an opportunity to show off our beautiful Middletown Area Senior Center,” Pryor said.

The craft show will showcase about 35 different vendors, including many repeat vendors. Guest can also expect to discover about 10 new vendors this year, she said.

Vendors will include Thirty-One, Gold Canyon Candles, Avon, Mary Kay, Jewelry by Silpada Designs, Shaklee Health Products, Cincy Candles and more.

There will be a wide selection of hand-made items for sale, for a variety of different tastes, including scarves, necklaces, purses, wallets and candles, to name a few.

Organizers expect about 300 guests to attend the event. More than a dozen staff and members of the center will volunteer throughout the day and oversee the various activities. Funds raised from the event will be used in the center’s transportation department.
