Country stars, Middletown police of lip sync video fame meet before Cincinnati concert

UPDATE @ 10:20 a.m. Sept. 7: Several members of the Middletown Division of Police, who appeared in a lip sync video, met Lady Antebellum before the country music band's Thursday concert at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati.

One of Lady Antebellum’s songs, “Need You Now,” was featured in a lip sync challenge video created by the police department. The video was viewed more than 2 million times after it was posted by the department, and even got a thumbs up from the popular country group who tweeted that it was “amazing.”

Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw called meeting the band “an awesome experience” and called the members “really down to earth people.”

He said the band members said they “loved” the video and appreciated the work of police officers.

The chief said the employees “deserved” a night like that.

FIRST REPORT, Sept. 6:

Tonight’s country concert at Riverbend Music Center will have a Middletown flavor.

Several members of the Middletown Division of Police and City of Middletown employees are attending the Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker concert in Cincinnati.

One of Lady Antebellum’s songs, “Need You Now” was featured in a lip sync challenge video created by the Middletown police department. The video was viewed more than 2 million times after it was posted by the department, and even got a thumbs up from the popular country group who tweeted that it was “amazing.”

 

Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw said he’s hoping some of the officers and staff featured in the video meet the band tonight.

In the video, officers are seen craving doughnuts, and once the empty boxes in the office are replenished, stuffing their faces with doughnuts.
