Fans aren’t happy with Skyline Chili after cracker change

Don’t mess with Cincinnati and its chili.

Skyline Chili fans aren’t happy after the restaurant changed up the crackers they serve. Customers took to social media to express their discontent and dismay over the new — and apparently saltier and buttery — crackers.

The Cincinnati-based restaurant chain told our news partner WCPO that their old baker is changing their business model. The company is "working hard at a seamless change in suppliers, and are in the midst of transitioning to a high-quality baker who shares our passion for the Skyline Chili experience," they told WCPO.

A spokeswoman for Skyline told the Dayton Daily News that the restaurant chain is transitioning to a new baker, “but have been working hard as the next batches come out to make sure customers get the same cracker they have grown to love.”

Skyline has several locations across the Miami Valley, West Chester Twp. and Cincinnati. The famous chili restaurant originally opened in Cincinnati in 1949 by Nicholas Lambrinides, a young man from Greece who watched his mother cook authentic Greek dishes in their small kitchen. Now, the chain has locations in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida.
