Butler County’s newest hospital on track for 2017-18 opening

The hulking steel structure of Christ Hospital Medical Center-Liberty Twp. is looming large next to the growing Interstate 75/Ohio 129 interchange as construction continues on pace for the facility to open in the winter of 2017-2018.

Contractor Danis Building Construction installed structural steel beams and steel studs back and poured concrete floor at the future site of The Christ Hospital Health Network’s new Liberty Twp. medical center, according to Kendall Herold, spokeswoman for the Christ Hospital Health Network.

Danis Building also completed framing the exterior skeleton for the 125,000-square-foot center and has started on the masonry exterior with interior metal stud wall framing having started on the second floor, she said.

“They have methodically planned events by sequence, trade, access to building sections, and so far, it has worked out rather well,” Herold told the Journal-News.

In addition, spray fireproofing has started on the first floor. In-wall mechanical rough-in should start in September and drywall in possibly October or November, she said.

“Work continues to flow as they complete one section and move to another, and successive floors,” Herold said.

Approximately 70 people are working on-site on the medical center, which remains on track for a winter 2017-2018 opening, she said.

“It is our mission to improve the health of the community and to create patient value by providing exceptional outcomes, affordable care and the finest experiences,” Herold said. “We’re looking forward to extending our reach and transforming the way care is delivered in the fast-growing community of Liberty Twp.”

Everything has run smoothly during construction at the site with no challenges presenting themselves, she said.

“(We’re) very impressed with the team of professionals on the project including design and mechanical firms, the construction team as they have dealt with situations on a timely basis with no delays in schedule or performance,” Herold said.

Christ Hospital Health Network recently completed and opened two other large-scale projects in the region. The Christ Hospital Surgery Center-Montgomery opened in April, offering offers outpatient surgery for breast cancer, ear, nose and throat, urology, joint and spine and gynecologic surgery services.

The Christ Hospital Comprehensive Breast Center - Montgomery opened in January offering state-of-the-art services, including digital screening, diagnostic mammograms, automated whole breast ultrasound and MRI.
