GE Aviation names new top leadership

GE Aviation has appointed two new top leaders to its executive team.

Headquartered in Evendale, the company appointed Jean Lydon-Rodgers as president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation Services. Tony Mathis was also promoted as president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation Military Systems.

Lydon-Rodgers has worked in several divisions within GE Aviation, including engineering, services and military systems. She also served as president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation Military Systems, working the U.S. Department of Defense and numerous international military customers.

Mathis joined GE in 1997 after serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he focused on flight test and propulsion project engineering. For the past 19 years, Mathis has held roles in commercial engineering, marketing and military systems.

GE Aviation is an operation unit of General Electric Co., Ohio’s largest manufacturing employer of more than 15,000 people, according to state records. In Southwest Ohio, where its aviation unit is headquartered, GE anchors an aerospace parts manufacturing industry that employs thousands in the region, including two locations in Dayton.
