A&P has worked with GE Aviation on material for the GEnx engine fan casing. The company specializes in the braiding of fiber reinforcements for stronger materials.
This contract is for the design and manufacture of an aircraft structure, using fabrication processes that may be automated “leading to greatly reduced costs associated with manufacturing,” the DoD said.
Work will be performed at Cincinnati and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2021.
