Harrison Ford was seen in Santa Paula helping out at the scene of a rollover accident Sunday, authorities said.

Senior Officer Matt Alonzo of the Santa Paula Police Department was working the incident, which took place around noon. A sedan rolled over off of eastbound Highway 126 in the vicinity of Eighth Street and hit a tree, he said.

The actor was in the area with a friend when they heard the vehicle crash and headed over to assist, Alonzo said.

"He acted as a good Samaritan, just like everybody else, and tried to help before emergency services arrived," he said.

Ford and others were able to help the female driver out of the vehicle, Alonzo said.

The woman driving, who was the only occupant in the sedan, escaped with minor injuries, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol, the lead agency for the incident, is investigating the cause, Alonzo said.

Ford is famous for roles including Indiana Jones in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and its sequels and for playing Han Solo in the "Star Wars" franchise, among others.

The accident scene was near the Santa Paula Airport. Ford, known as an avid pilot, had reportedly been at the airport earlier in the day, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

A second accident was reported in the area when a vehicle leaving eastbound 126 ended up on its side in the grass near the Peck Road traffic ramps but no one was injured, authorities said.
