Wayne raced to a big early lead and cruised to a 68-54 defeat of Cincinnati Oak Hills in a boys high school basketball Division I district final at UD Arena on Saturday night.
The win launches Wayne (24-1) into a regional semifinal against Princeton (23-3) at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. Moeller (23-3) will play the Springfield/Elder winner in the 6:15 p.m. regional opener.
This was one of four D-I district finals. Princeton edged Lakota East 53-51 in the opener and Moeller defeated Fairmont 65-50. Springfield (20-4) plays Elder (14-11) in the finale.

Wayne was in high gear, at least through the first half. L’Christian “Blue” Smith led the Warriors with 23 points, and eight rebounds. Darius Quisenberry added 19 points and Rashad McKee 10. The Warriors won their sixth straight game.

Oak Hills (18-7), coming out of the Greater Miami Conference, was led by Nick Diefel’s five 3-pointers and 21 points.
