STATE LITTLE LEAGUE: West Side notches another big win

Hamilton West Side rolled to another win Sunday in the Ohio Little League tournament.

West Side trounced Tallmadge 13-2 in five innings to win its second game in as many days at Bevelhymer Park in New Albany. West Side opened the double-elimination tournament with a 13-1 win Saturday over Maumee.

On Sunday, Cade Bowling and Matt Ponatoski each had three hits to lead the offense. Connor Cuozzo and Peyton Davis added two hits apiece. Davis and Elijah Bradner cracked home runs.

Brooks Treadway, Xander Arnold, Cam Carter and Rowen Brown each had one hit.

Ponatoski started and allowed one hit. Cuozzo and Taylor pitched in relief.

West Side faces Mount Vernon at 4 p.m. Tuesday in a winner’s bracket semifinal.
