In case you missed it, ESPN announced Wednesday the four-decade sportscasting career of Brent Musburger is coming to an end not at the end of the year or the conclusion of the college basketball season but this month.

Musburger has provided the soundtrack to an incredible array of sports over the years, and he was one of the best or one of the worst depending on who you ask (nobody said sports fans have to agree on anything).

Here is a quick look at some of his most famous calls from college football, including Doug Flutie’s Haily Mary for Boston College to beat Miami and the “Holy Buckeye” play for Ohio State in 2002.

And a tribute from ESPN.

Of course, his tenure wasn’t without controversy, including when he spoke about Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon, who broke a woman’s jaw with a punch in 2014, during the Sugar Bowl broadcast earlier this month.

And who could forget how he made Katherine Webb (then-girlfriend and now wife of Bengals backup quarterback A.J. McCarron) a household name following the broadcast of Alabama’s win over Notre Dame in the 2012 national championship game.
